The Hardest Waste to Eliminate is Our Own. 🛑

It is the great irony of CI professionals: We spend our careers teaching organizations how to eliminate waste, improve flow, and optimize value.

But when we look in the mirror, are we actually practicing what we preach?

In our latest blog article, we confront a difficult truth: Most Lean Management systems are riddled with the very wastes they are trying to eliminate.

Are you consumed with “Administering Lean” instead of influencing strategy?

Here is what waste looks like inside a CI program:
📉 Inventory: Dumping a week’s worth of Green Belt training on people who forget it the moment they leave the classroom (Push vs. Pull).
📉 Overproduction: Building beautiful PowerPoint decks for leadership report-outs that nobody actually wants or needs.
📉 Motion: The bureaucratic runaround and “approval olympics” required just to get a simple process change done.
📉 Transporting: Walking paper A3s and Value Stream Maps around the office instead of going digital.
📉 Waiting: The time employees spend searching for a best practice or waiting for a “Belt” to show up and help them.

      Why does this matter?

As long as you are bogged down “administering lean”—managing spreadsheets, scheduling classes, and chasing paper—you are not doing the high-level work that actually moves the needle.

You are cleaning up the mess instead of preventing it.

To secure a real seat at the table and influence leaders before they make bad decisions, you have to automate the administration.

We broke down exactly how to move from “Push” training to “Lean Knowledge On-Demand” in the full article.
